poorly neglected blog space.
i have been working on a transcription project that has me yelling at a computer screen about four times a day, fiery italian that i am. it is interesting from a sociological standpoint, certainly, how people converse. it is also making me more conscious of how i speak. i grew up in a family of interrupters; interruptions that attempt to finish your sentence, but they always finish it incorrectly so you have to stop what you’re saying to disagree. back to that italian thing.
i am still in submission-mode. i had two acceptances, but am still hustling a few different chapbooks while simultaneously editing a manuscript. one of my book reviews is forthcoming with poetry international and that is just really cool.
i found a poetry community in town and although i was the youngest one there, i was pleasantly surprised by the quality of work in the group. so, i’m working my network mojo and attempting this extroverted thing.
now that enough time has passed with the move, i was able to exorcise a little of that process into a humorous piece for rattle and pen. you can read it here.
my adventure boot camp starts next week. i’ve dreamed about it every night this week out of anxiety and something resembling terror.
see you on the other side.
